Container Distribution – 2009
We had a group of guys from Boston (including Fr. John Unni and Dave Manzo, who you’ll meet in January) at Wings and they put all the tables, wheelbarrows and three of the cabinets together. We also decided to keep the two smallest bikes at Wings and a friend sent training wheels with that group, so they put those on too. They assembled everything in one morning. It was amazing.
I sent the first batch of things to the boys at Trinity House when an empty van went there last weekend. The van was full of boxes, plastic bins and three bikes.
This morning every kid at Wings got a new sweatshirt (they each got to pick the one they wanted). And we took a family photo of everyone in their new, warm sweatshirts. There are a bunch of individual photos of the kids in their new shirts while we were waiting for everyone to make it upstairs. We even had a Packers vs. Vikings pairing!
The new buckets are a big hit! Especially for the guys who do the most of the carrying of water and laundry. LaFrance, Peterson and Jonas were very happy.
